Messrs. Arnhold, Karberg & Co.,
Dear Sirs,
LONDON.
We beg to confirm your telegram reading "Have you
received permission Attorney General forwarding Genoa
hundred bales waste silk and two hundred and sixty eight
cocoons ex "Kleist". Wire. Karberg." and our reply
of to-day's date, "Kleist you must obtain permission of
British Government.
Karberg's Liquidatore."
On receipt of your wire we at once communicated with
the Attorney General, with whom we have been in dorrespon-
dence for some time in connection with this cargo, and
who was of the opinion that there would be some difficulty
in obtaining permission, asking him to state on what
grounds he was of the opinion that difficulty in obtain-
ing permission to forward the goods would arise, and we
are to-day in receipt of his reply.
We attach a copy
of his letter which speaks for itself.
You will see
that as far as we can, we have obtained the necessary
permission, but that before the goods can be sent to any
country
